We started Kiwi As Building Bits because the trade was being let down by generic tooling. Walk into any big-box store and the countersink wall is a grab-bag of imported sizes, none of them paired with a plug cutter that actually fits. A builder ends up fettling plugs by hand or living with a finish that isn't flush — and neither is good enough on a job you're putting your name to.

Matched sizing is the whole point. Every countersink we stock has a plug cutter cut to the same diameter, so the plug seats flush the first time, every time. No sanding, no shimming, no second trip to the store for the "right" size. It's a small thing that saves a finisher hours across a deck, a staircase, or a run of cabinetry — and it's the difference between a job that reads clean and one that reads fudged.

We keep it tight on purpose: two product lines, seven matched sizes, heat-treated steel, stocked locally in Auckland and dispatched within 24 hours.
